Soothseeker is agnostic on the question of religion. There may or may not be a supernatural element to reality, a hidden creator or puppeteer who interacts with reality only sporadically, producing what would seem like "exceptions" to existing rules (which would usually be referred to as "miracles" if they were understood as being due to conscious intervention). There are many who believe and maintain that agnosticism or atheism are irrational or unreasonable positions to hold. While I respect these people and their claims, I have not yet been convinced. One cannot engage in an honest quest for the truth without addressing the arguments for and against the truth claims of various religions, so thoughts along those lines will be posted under this topic. Soothseeker is close to the Christian religious community, and so most arguments here will be directed at Christian apologetics or Christian theology, but there may be exceptions even in the near future. In the fullness of time, other religions may make it onto the radar screen, as well. Bibliographical note: unless otherwise noted, Christian-apologetic arguments summarized in these articles are taken from Kreeft and Tacelli's Handbook of Christian Apologetics, and can be conveniently referenced there by the titles of the arguments and the table of contents. |
